ABOUT
Eli Baumgarten is a pianist, composer, and improviser whose music traverses jazz, classical, and cinematic musical atmospheres. With a deep-rooted curiosity and an inclination for storytelling, his work blends harmonic sophistication with emotional immediacy.

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Eli studied jazz piano performance at the University of Colorado Boulder, working under the mentorship of Brad Goode, Victor Mestas, Jeff Jenkins, and Andrew Cooperstock. His studies took him to Australia, where he expanded his artistry at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a focus on film scoring. These formative years culminated in Into Nowhere, a striking debut EP featuring jazz trio, cello, and violin that premiered to a sold-out crowd at Dazzle Denver, the city’s premier jazz venue.
Eli’s original compositions have been performed in concert settings across the U.S. and Australia. His work bridges improvisation and structure, often exploring themes of nostalgia, dislocation, and inner transformation.

Eli also writes evocative, emotionally attuned scores for films and visual media. His music blends organic instrumentation with modern production techniques, creating sound worlds that support and deepen narrative. He creates dramatic modern orchestral scores that blend intimate piano, strings and electronic soundscapes. Whether writing for film, theatre, or other mediums, Eli thrives on projects that offer opportunities to collaborate and exchange ideas with similarly passionate artists.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Eli continues to explore the intersection of music, emotion, and storytelling through performance, composing, and collaboration.
